The Energy Centre

South Yorkshire Energy Centre is open to the public from Wednesday - Saturday, 11am-3pm, and for group bookings on Mondays and Tuesdays.

CHRISTMAS CLOSING

South Yorkshire Energy Centre will be closed from Saturday the 19th of December 2009 and will reopen on Wednesday the 6th of January 2010.

In May 2007, SYEC won first prize in their section at the Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Awards.

Seminar subjects include straw-bale building with UK experts Amazon Nails, Community Renewables with Barnaby Fryer, Timber-frame building, Green Refurbishment (speakers to be confirmed). We hope also to have some local architects and builders giving their slant on Green building. Rhian Harding, of South Yorkshire Energy Network, is speaking on Fuel Poverty and Affordable Warmth. Every year, people die in their homes in the UK from cold-related conditions. Sometimes there's a lot of ground-work to do before we even start to think of going Green!
